Senior Profiles

Ben Carbery, OL

An offensive lineman from Oak Park, Illinois, Carbery has played an integral role for Yale since arriving as a freshman. Carbery has made 34 straight starts leading up to the game against Harvard, and earned All-Ivy honors last season.

Kyle Cazzetta, K

Hailing from Slate Hill, New York, Cazzetta earned All-Ivy honors last season after starting every game as a punter and placekicker. This season, he has connected on 100 percent of his point after attempts and made 13 of 17 field goals, with a long of 41 yards.

William Chism, OL

Chism, from Ridgeland, Mississippi, has occupied a starting spot on the offensive line for the last 29 games as the left guard. Along with Carbery, he has the most experience on the offensive line, and the two have been staples for Yale for the past three seasons.

Adam Conklin, DE

A defensive end from Dover, Massachusetts, Conklin recently switched sides to contribute to the team. He previously played on the offensive end, and he appeared in eight games last season and all ten two years ago.

Charles Cook, OLB

A Dallas, Texas native, Cook is an important contributor to the Yale defense. He started all 10 games last season in the defensive secondary, and so far this year he has contributed 48 tackles after converting to linebacker.

John Dunion, OL

Dunion, from Santa Barbara, California, has been a steady presence on the JV squad the past three years. He appeared in two varsity games last season, and this year has competed for time at right guard.

Davis Frank, DT

A defensive tackle from Clinton, Tennessee, Frank has split time between both the varsity and JV squads during his time at Yale. He has battled for playing time this year at a deep position for the Bulldogs.

L.J. Hunt, TB

Hunt, a tailback from Stratford, Connecticut, has made two appearances so far this season, rushing for six yards against Penn. With his experience on the JV team, he adds depth to the list of running backs for the Bulldogs.

Everett Johnson, TB

Johnson, featured often on special teams during his time at Yale, is a tailback from Union, NJ. This season, he has seen action in four games, and had a carry for 34 yards and a touchdown against Cornell.

Kahlil Keys, TB

Keys, from Petaluma, California, has been a solid contributor for the Bulldogs’ run game. So far, he has played in eight games for a total of 194 yards on the season, but his Yale highlight was likely his modern school record 94-yard touchdown run against Columbia in 2013.

Nick LaTesta, WR

A wide receiver from Wood Bridge, NJ, La Testa has seen playing time on both sides of the ball during his time at Yale. This season, he has lined up as a wide receiver for four games, and he averages 8.7 yards per catch.

Tyler Manu, DE

From Meridian, Idaho, Manu has seen action as a defensive end during his time at Yale. This year, however, he has had to compete with the likes of Victor Egu ’17 and Marty Moesta ’17 for playing time.

Deon Randall, WR

Captain of the Yale football team, Randall, a wide receiver from San Diego, California, is a two-time All-Ivy selection. He leads all receivers this season with six touchdowns, and he has 67 receptions to go along with 889 yards on the season.

Jeff Schmittgens, DE

A defensive end from Naperville, Illinois, Schmittgens played in all ten games last season. This year, he has made a mark on the team with two tackles for a loss.

Stephen Shoemaker, OL

A Bronxville, NY native, Shoemaker, and offensive lineman, has spent most of his career on the JV team, appearing in one varsity game last season. He has fought for a spot on the highly competitive offensive line all year.

Ryan Stanney, LB

A linebacker from Oviedo, Florida, Stanney has spent most of his career on the JV squad. He adds depth to the linebacker position and has competed for a role on special teams.

Parker Toms, K/P

A kicker and punter from San Carlos, CA, Toms last season handled most of the kickoffs and also attempted one field goal, which he connected on from 31 yards. He has not seen much action this year due to the rise of Bryan Holmes ’17 and the accuracy of classmate Kyle Cazzetta ’15.

Tyler Varga, TB

An All-Ivy selection despite missing nearly half the games last season, Varga is a tailback from Kitchener, Ontario, who averages 144 yards per game. He has contributed 1296 yards on offense and scored five touchdowns in a game twice already this season against Army and Colgate.

William Vaughan, LB

A South Orange, New Jersey native, Vaughan was an All-Ivy selection last season as a linebacker. He recorded a team-high 82 tackles last season, but this year has only played in five games and tallied 16 total tackles.

Grant Wallace, WR

A wide receiver from St. Louis, Missouri, Wallace has played in every game this season and leads all receivers with 71 receptions and 1012 yards, which is 112.4 yards per game. He has also seen time on defense during his career as a Bulldog.
